Raising Funds For

Mentor Me India aspires to support 1000 Mentor-Mentee pairs in 2018. With this, we would soon be launching our campaign: Dream Big. Dream 1000. We hope to support our #1000LittleDreamers pursue their dreams.

At our current scale of operations, it costs us INR 18,000 to match and support a Mentor-Mentee pair for two years. All our costs are utilised for enrolling and surveying the mentees, recruiting volunteer mentors and training them, matching the two and supporting them for two years through a well-thought out curriculum.

Amount Utilized (INR)905753
Project DescriptionAt Mentor Me India, we provide 1-to-1 mentorship to children between the ages of 8 and 14 who come from low income communities across various parts of Mumbai city. Each child is matched with a mentor who is selected through a 3 step recruitment process. The mentors undergo continuous workshops in mentoring such as orientation session, inductions, group mentoring and mentor meet-ups and they are supported to follow our curriculum
LocationsMumbai City > Maharashtra (MH)

ImpactWe focus on various dimensions of the child's growth like Self Awareness, Social Interaction, Aspirations, Citizenship and Guiding Values. The children are exposed to multiple career options, learn skills, and have a friend and a role model to look up to. Children discover their talents and are exposed/given access to potential life changing avenues, helping them break the poverty cycle. Apart from becoming visibly more confident, improving English, building concrete skills and social development, there have been incidental impacts on the mentees academics. The mentors too have reported to performing better at work, being sensitive to economic inclusivity and privilege. We currently impact close to 500 children and 500 mentors across 12 of our centers in Mumbai - a number that promises to grow exponentially in the next few years.
