Raising Funds For

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, across our nation, people are being forced to face personal, social, financial and emotional situations they have never dealt with before. We’re witnessing the rise of a host of issues that affect Mental Health like never before. Anxiety, thoughts of dying, extreme distress, self harm, feelings of abandonment and isolation because of relationship issues, separation from family, financial disintegration, abuse with no route for escape, are among the many conditions becoming increasingly prevalent. The situation for individuals who already have Mental Health difficulties or Mental Illnesses is potentially worse and even more detrimental to their well-being.
Under the current circumstances, we have had to close our rehabilitation centre, which ran on a day care basis for people recovering from mental conditions. Beneficiaries of our rehabilitation centre are showing symptoms of relapse and deterioration of mental state due to the sudden absence of centre and its services. In order to keep with the times, continue supporting our clients, and reach out to more individuals in need, we recognise the need to formally structure our rehabilitation programme digitally. We urgently require financial resources in order to continue operations and move our entire rehabilitation programme into a digital space.

Fund Utilization in 2020

Total funds raised in 2020 - INR 281500

Project NameMANAV Rehabilitation Centre
Amount Utilized (INR)281500
Project DescriptionMANAV Rehabilitation Programme is now a virtual programme and is the result of shift from in-person centre to a digital platform so as to maintain our connection with the beneficiaries and to see that their recovery and therapy has not been interrupted. The objective with which the programme has been initiated is to stay connected to our beneficiaries, this includes people who are undergoing rehabilitation as well as their caregivers, to see that their recovery is not interrupted and to prevent relapse as an aftermath and fallout due to lockdown. Thus the funds received have been used for digital infrastructure and care provision of the beneficiaries.
Due to the unpredictability of the COVID-19 pandemic and its ensuing economic, social and financial consequences, we have modified our service delivery system to a digital platform that facilitates the rehabilitation and counselling for adults with Mental Illness beyond physical boundaries. We are conducting the following activities via digital means:
· Rehabilitation services for adults living with Mental Illness, inclusive of therapies (Music Therapy, Yoga, Drama Therapy), individual counselling, and family counselling
· Counselling services for people with more temporary Mental Health difficulties
· Vocational training of our beneficiaries in English and Computer Skills

Project DescriptionAnimal Assisted Therapy (AAT), facilitated by the Animal Angels Foundation, involves a human and an animal therapist as a part of the process. It has been part of our therapeutic interventions since 2006 and has played a very important role in the process of clients’ rehabilitation. AAT helps the clients to improve their social, emotional and cognitive functioning, increases levels of confidence, and enables the free flowing expression of emotions.
Bowen Therapy has been used as a therapeutic intervention since 2007 and has played a very important role in the process of clients’ rehabilitation. Bowen Therapy is facilitated by a trained & certified Bowen therapist. The Bowen technique involves muscle and connective tissue mass. This therapy uses only gentle moves but yields outstanding results that even the classical medicine circles have taken notice. It involves a series of precise, gentle, painless pressure moves, which are applied over clothing, and which improve energy flow in the body and aid in self-healing. The healing may occur at all levels as needed: physical, chemical, emotional, mental, energetic, etc.It has been found to be specifically helpful and effective when addressing symptoms of anxiety, depression and intense stress.
