Clean Shores Mumbai -

997 volunteers invested 1994 volunteers hours in a beach clean-up drive, organized by Hindustan Unilever Ltd. and implemented by UWM under the campaign ‘Start a Little Good’. The objective of this campaign is to sensitise people about the responsible use of plastic through clean-up drives at city beaches. The aim is to collect plastic waste that can be recycled into products that can be given back to the community as a positive outcome of the initiative. The plastic collected during the drive will be recycled into fishing nets, fishing boats, park benches, etc. and will be given back to the nearby community. Around 8 tonnes of waste was collected during the 3 clean-up drives in Mumbai. Lake / Ghats clean-up drives were organized in Bangalore and Delhi with the help of our implementing partners, where 737 volunteers were mobilized and over 6.8 tonnes of waste was collected in 1474 volunteering hours.
