Let's READ Activities at Sakhi for Girl Child Education

American educator and stateswoman, Mary Bethune highlights the importance of learning to read when she states, "The whole world opened to me when I learned to read". To promote a love for books and reading, United Way Mumbai conducted activities under the Let’s READ campaign supported by Australian Consulate General, Mumbai’s Direct Aid Programme. Through the initiative, two mini-library bags were gifted to the Sakhi for Girl Child Education Centre at Mulund, benefiting over 110 girls across age groups. The children were also excited to be a part of engaging storytelling and book reading sessions conducted by professional storytellers.
