Build our Bridge

There is a dearth of centres in Goa to meet the needs of children with disabilities. Sethu is rapidly growing its fourth temporary home and is precariously bursting at the seams. This is the outcome of the committed professional multidisciplinary team treating thousands upon thousands of children with special needs and their families. A home of Sethu’s own, which allows even more children to be seen, whatever their challenges, has been a fervent wish for the last 14 years. This will enable focus on providing the range of services offered, as well as to scale and strengthen them and the team. Operating from multiple cramped rented spaces, without any disability access is a massive challenge. With the huge and increasing demand for services, it has become imperative to build a customized facility that can cater to the multi-disciplinary services, training programs and advocacy work, that Sethu offers which are a legacy for the growing number of children in Goa who need them. The Sethu team are strong advocates of early intervention and ensure they are looking not just at the child, but all those who interact and impact their lives, believing that every child has the right to hope and understanding. The team loves the work they do with passion and desperately need more space in which to do it. The Build our Bridge campaign, for which your support is needed, will enable them to do just that.
