A little intro on St Jude India Childcare Centres - Childhood cancers have a high rate of cure but medical treatment needs to be supported by an infection free, cheerful environment and proper nourishment.
Underprivileged parents from rural India bring their children diagnosed with cancer to large cities where high quality treatment is available. While treatment may last as long as two years.
St. Judes bridges this gap by offering a clean and safe accommodation to these families who often end up living on the footpath next to the treating hospital. Without St Jude accommodation, many children and their families reside on get stone pavements, roadside food and water, and complete insecurity.
We currently have 37 Centres with 459 family units in Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Chennai, Vellore, Guwahati and Delhi.
