Mayuri works as a Nursing Assistant in a local hospital in Aurangabad. Her bygone years are a far cry from the person Mayuri is today.
Mayuri Dahake hails from a small village of Aurangabad. “Since my first grade – I have been staying in hostels. My life changed completely after I failed to clear my 12th-grade examinations. I lost confidence in my abilities. A friend of mine introduced me to Yuva Parivartan, and I enrolled for the Nursing Assistant program. The Life Skills module taught along with the technical skills at Yuva Parivartan proved to be a game-changer for me. I have regained my confidence and work at a local hospital. Apart from earning a livelihood – working with the sick gives me a sense of working for a social cause.”
Help Mayuri and thousands like her from the most backward and neglected Marathwada region. Help them regain confidence & start a new life. If efforts are taken through skill trainings to form a bridge between the Job Seeker Youth from the underprivileged communities & the Job Giver from the formal/informal sector, the livelihoods of the poor will definitely improve leading to a “progressive society” rather than a “Suicide prone Society.”
Kherwadi Social Welfare Association (KSWA) is an NGO set up in 1928 by Late Mr. B.G. Kher, the first Premier of the then Bombay Presidency. KSWA’s flagship program, Yuva Parivartan (YP), is a non-profit livelihood and skill development initiative in the country with operations in 18 states.
Yuva Parivartan is a National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) Partner and one of the few national level NGOs with a proven, scalable and replicable model for skills development and employment.
Yuva Parivartan has trained 950,000 youth so far, of which 65% are linked to livelihoods.
