Agastya is a cause - not just an organization. Its vision is of a creative India. It's mission is "to spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and instill confidence" in economically disadvantaged children and government school teachers by bringing imaginative and innovative hands-on science education, project-based and peer-to-peer learning to schools, towns and villages across India. Agastya runs hands-on science and art education programs in rural, semi-urban and urban regions across 19 Indian states. It is one of the largest science education programs that caters to economically disadvantaged children and teachers in the world.
About Me
I am Arun from Bangalore. I am a researcher. I have worked in R&D funded projects and developed some commercial products and science models. I am interested in teaching science to the rural children.
I am supporting Agastya International Foundation because I like the way Agastya reaches unprivileged children and teachers in rural and also I like the concept "Mobile Science Lab". This van travels to doorstep of remote schools with 100+ hands-on science models covering a wide range of topics in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Math for Class 5 through 10.A Mobile Science Lab can generate about 16,000 student exposures* per year by impacting 20-30 schools.
