About Me

Hello everyone, I am Paramita Mazumder, Principal of Sunshine School & Sheltered Workshop and Secretary of Sunshine Education Society. My personal journey with my son, who has autism and is now 26, inspired me to start this initiative. In 2006, we established Sunshine School, and in 2018, we expanded to the Sunshine Sheltered Workshop. Through these initiatives, our team supports differently-abled children and adults who may not fit into mainstream schools or workplaces. We provide tailored academic and extracurricular programs for students aged 4 to 17, and community living skills and vocational training for young adults aged 18 to 30.

Appeal

Sunshine Education Society is dedicated to providing education and rehabilitation for differently-abled individuals through its two initiatives—Sunshine School for children and Sunshine Sheltered Workshop for adults. The organization supports individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, and other developmental challenges.

At the school in Sector 2, Vashi, Navi Mumbai, students receive individualized academic, therapeutic, and extracurricular support in a safe and inclusive environment. However, many students residing along the Vashi–Airoli corridor face daily difficulties commuting to and from school. They currently depend on private vehicles that are often uncomfortable and unsuitable for children with special needs.

To address this, we aim to purchase a Tata Winger Tempo Traveller, a 15-seater van costing approximately 15 lakhs, to provide safe and comfortable transportation for our students. A familiar and reliable vehicle will reduce anxiety, help children arrive at school calm and ready to learn, and offer parents the peace of mind that their children are safe.
