About Me
I am a volunteer with Isha Vidhya. I am running Mumbai Marathon which is to be held on 15 January 2017 supporting the cause of Isha Vidya as it will help create a future for children who would otherwise have no opportunity of getting out of their hopeless situations.
Appeal
Quality education is the only ladder that we can provide our rural children to help them and their families climb out of the vicious cycle of poverty.
Isha Education Trust provides accessible & affordable quality education to the rural poor. It provides education opportunities to 7000+ children in rural communities across 9 “Isha Vidhya” schools and has adopted over 500+ government schools in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
Most children are first generation school goers, 46% of Isha Vidhya students are girls. Isha Schools provide clean and spacious classrooms, Science, Maths and Computer labs, digital classroom, library, playground and play equipment. It also provides balanced and nutritious mid-day meals which for most children is the only wholesome meal of the day.
I have been a witness to the selfless dedication of the Isha Vidhya project team and the impact this initiatives is having on the rural children.
