About Me

Hi, I’m Simran!
Six months ago, I started running—mostly to clear my head, feel stronger, and prove to myself that “main bhi kar sakti hoon.” It began with 3k, 5k, 10k and then 3 HMs to qualify for TMM. Fast forward to today, and here I am, running my biggest challenge yet- my first full marathon in Mumbai.

DDLJ had Simran saying, “Bade bade deshon mein aisi chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hain.”
But little did I know that running 26.2 miles is not a chhoti baat. It’s been a journey of early mornings, sore legs, small wins, and learning to trust the process.

By day, I work closely in the space of entrepreneurship and livelihoods, supporting people who dare to build something of their own. I’ve seen how courage, skill, and consistency can change lives—and that’s exactly why I chose to run for Aftertaste Foundation.

Through this run, I’m raising funds to support Aftertaste’s dream of a Centre of Excellence—a space for learning, entrepreneurship, well-being, and growth.

Together, we can help these women keep moving forward. Every step—and every contribution—truly counts.

Appeal

Aftertaste Foundation believes in the power of art to transform lives.
For the past 12 years, they have worked with women from the at-risk community in Malwani, Malad West, Mumbai—creating pathways to financial independence and dignified livelihoods. Through training and upskilling, these women have mastered the craft of hand-painted, hand-stitched, and hand-crafted products across stationery, home décor, utility, and gifting.

Today, their journey of empowerment is ready for its next chapter. They aim to:
1. Develop entrepreneurial skills among our artisans, enabling them to leverage their artistry for growth and independence;
2. Invest in the physical and mental well-being of our women;
3. Provide advanced training in digital literacy, presentation, and entrepreneurship;
4. Support the next generation—helping the youth of our women gain confidence in interviews and career opportunities.

To make this vision a reality, they are initiating a Center of Excellence (COE) —a space for continuous learning, growth, and empowerment. With your support, they can unlock brighter futures, not just for women artisans, but for entire families and communities. Every training, every product, every milestone is another step towards empowerment that lasts a lifetime.

These women and families have taken the first step to escape the cycle of intergenerational poverty, help them stay on that path! Towards breaking barriers, building futures.
