About Me
My name is Renée, and I’m taking on my first-ever half marathon. It’s a big step for me — and honestly a little scary — but I’m doing it for a cause that’s really close to my heart. I want this run to mean something beyond just crossing the finish line.
Cancer sucks.
Having cancer sucks.
Having a loved one with this disease sucks.
The treatments suck.
Losing someone to this disease sucks.
And suffering through it in any form sucks.
Cancer affects everything. And what hurts the most is the amount of power it has.
I want to be part of the change, to help take back the power cancer holds, and to be a small part of the big difference we can all make together. To make us feel more powerful and a little less alone.
Appeal
I’m supporting the Indian Cancer Society because I want to do my part in the fight against cancer. Cancer affects the lives of everyone around it, and one of the hardest things about this disease is the overwhelming feeling of helplessness it creates. I want to help build awareness and support this important cause in any way I can.
Early detection truly saves lives, and cancer is not a death sentence. My goal is to raise as much money as possible and spread more awareness about taking charge of your health through regular screenings and routine check-ups.
The Indian Cancer Society does amazing and meaningful work — from helping patients get the support they need to spreading awareness and making early detection possible for more families.
