About Me

Hello!
I’m Kavir Dharia, a 7th grader at BD Somani International School. I enjoy playing tennis and cycling in my free time. I will be participating in the Tata Marathon 2026. When I was younger, I read about a boy who shaved his head to donate hair to cancer patients, which motivated me. I then became aware of the challenges faced by cancer patients, which is why I decided to donate my hair twice. When our school, BD Somani, sent out an email about the Tata Marathon and the opportunity to register through the Cuddles Foundation, I felt it was the right thing to do. This is because it offers a helping hand to people who need it and fulfills my goal of completing a marathon.

Appeal

Childhood cancer can be cured. But for children in India, it’s a very different story. Lack of access to timely treatment and malnutrition among those seeking treatment makes survival difficult for children.
~76,000 adolescents (age 0-19) may develop cancer every year in India of which ~ 40% are malnourished at diagnosis. Malnutrition has a serious impact on cancer treatment, because treatments like chemotherapy may lead to side effects, complications, risk of infections, etc.

Cuddles Foundation is India's only NGO dedicated to helping children combat cancer through holistic nutrition. Cuddles has partnered with top government hospitals and charity cancer treatment centers to address the nutrition gap in Indian childhood cancer care. Through their FoodHeals® Program, Cuddles provides year-round holistic nutrition support to children and their families in 40+ hospitals across India.

The funds raised via Tata Mumbai Marathon will contribute to supporting hundreds of children at our partner hospitals in Mumbai with ration bundles, supplements, meals & counseling.

Every step you take and the donation you make will be a direct source of nourishment, hope, and healing for little cancer warriors who just can’t wait to get well and be kids again.
