About Me

I am Megha Shivakumar, a Chartered Accountant with 15 years of experience in risk advisory and governance. I am also the author of Born to Bloom and a proud recipient of the Global Mentoring Excellence Award. 
Over the past 18 months, I have been volunteering with CMCA, where I have the privilege to mentor young minds, a role that deeply connects my professional commitment to integrity and ethical leadership with CMCA’s mission of nurturing active, responsible citizens.

Appeal

Dear friends and supporters,

I am excited to share with you a cause close to my heart, supporting the work of the Children’s Movement for Civic Awareness (CMCA), an organisation with 25 years of dedicated service in citizenship and life-skills education across India.

At CMCA, our mission is to transform young people into concerned, thoughtful, and active citizens. Through experiential learning, children not only learn about values like empathy, responsibility, and participation, they live them, reflect, and act together to bring change in their communities.

This year, I am raising funds to support CMCA’s “My Library for a Better Me” programme - an inspiring initiative that transforms rural Gram Panchayat libraries into vibrant learning spaces. Here, children aged 12–16 explore books, life-skills, creativity, and community action under the guidance of trained mentors. It’s a safe, joyful place where they grow into confident, curious, and compassionate citizens.

Every step I take in this marathon is my commitment to stand for positive change and civic education for children. I invite you to join me in this journey, every contribution, big or small, helps nurture these libraries and the young minds they serve.
