About Me

I came across Vidyadaan Sahayyak Mandal during its initial years. Since then I have been a part of various activities of the NGO.

This is a volunteer driven-I organization where more than 650 volunteers across Maharashtra work tirelessly and selflessly for the noble cause of education.

It is amazing to see more than 1100 students being passed out in almost 16 different streams for last 17 years. Whereas, over 850 students are currently benefiting from the grooming model of Vidyadaan Sahayyak Mandal.

I am a chemical engineer by profession having done BTech from IIT Mumbai in 1975. I am residing in Pune. I am also a proud member of Rotary Club of Pune Metro.

Appeal

I have been supporting charitable organizations such as World Vision and others for over two decades. However, ever since I started volunteering with Vidyadaan Sahayyak Mandal (VSM), it has been a truly transformative experience.
At VSM, I serve as a Karyakarta Palak (KP) — a voluntary local guardian for the students assigned to me. VSM’s model is built on a strong belief: bright, ambitious students from rural areas who come to educational hubs like Pune need much more than financial aid. They often lack access to an educational culture and mentoring support at home. That’s where the role of a KP becomes crucial — to guide, motivate, and support these students in their academic and personal journeys.
What I truly admire about VSM is its robust processes, effective use of technology, and an open, responsive culture that values every volunteer and student. VSM is not just helping students get an education — it’s shaping responsible, confident, and compassionate citizens of tomorrow.
I’m delighted that VSM is using the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2026 as a platform to raise funds and awareness for this noble cause. This will be my third year participating in the marathon — not as a competitive athlete, but as a passionate advocate for healthy living and community service.
I sincerely appeal to all my friends, well-wishers, and like-minded individuals to donate wholeheartedly — every contribution, big or small, helps build a brighter future for India.
