About Me

Hi, I’m Ujvala Vemparala, founder of Rüs Organic and a passionate animal lover. I’m thrilled to be running the Half Marathon in support of the Wetnose Foundation, an organization close to my heart for the incredible work they do to care for and protect animals in need.

Through this fundraiser, I hope to make a small difference for the voiceless and inspire others to contribute to this cause. Every step I take during this run is dedicated to giving more animals the safe, happy lives they deserve.

Appeal

I was introduced to the Wetnose Foundation through its founder, Disha, whose compassion and commitment to animal welfare truly inspired me. Her encouragement and our shared love for animals motivated me to support their incredible, small-scale, and hands-on efforts to help all kinds of animals in need.

My own journey with animals has shaped so much of who I am today. My wonderful dog, Rani, inspired me to start my brand Rüs Organic — she’s even part of its namesake. Through her, I’ve learned unconditional love and empathy, and that connection has only deepened as I rescued my own factory dogs — Xena, Max, Rocky, and Tiger. Each of them has taught me patience, care, and the importance of standing up for animals, especially our street dogs who deserve so much more kindness and protection.

Running this Half Marathon has become more than just a physical challenge — it’s a purposeful journey. Training for it has given me new perspective and perseverance, reminding me that the effort we put into what we love can create real impact. I’m proud to run for the Wetnose Foundation, to raise awareness and funds for their heartfelt mission, and to celebrate the incredible bond between humans and animals.
