About Me

My name is Isha Barthwal and i am a Chartered Accountant based in Navi Mumbai. I am also the founder of GEN SKP Foundation, a non-profit company which connects those who want to help with those in need. Over the past four years, GEN SKP has supported the education of 30+ underprivileged children, helped families with critical medical expenses, built toilets in rural Uttarakhand, and organized donation drives for books and clothes across India.

My journey in social work began at 19, when i helped four children who had lost their parents find a safe home. Today, those children have grown into confident young adults, building independent futures. Also during COVID, i worked with a group of individuals to support migrant families go back home and re-enroll children who had dropped out of school.

I recently came across Sunshine School and was moved by the work they do with children who have special needs. Through GEN SKP, we have started supporting the education fees of two of their students, and I hope to continue helping them in whatever way I can.

Appeal

I am here to raise funds for Sunshine Education Society that aims at providing quality education and rehabilitation through its two initiatives:

1. Sunshine school - for differently abled children.
2. Sunshine Sheltered workshop - for differently abled adults

They serve differently abled individual primarily with autism spectrum disorder as well as with other developmental disabilities as below:
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Intellectual Disability
- Cerebral Palsy and more

At the school located in Sector 2, Vashi, Navi Mumbai, students receive tailored academic as well as extra-curricular training in a safe and nurturing environment.

Challenge:
Currently, the school has a dedicated van for the Vashi–Panvel route, generously sponsored by a private company, which has been of immense help. However, students residing along the Vashi–Airoli corridor face challenges in commuting. At present, they rely on private transport, which is often uncomfortable and unsuitable for children with special needs.

Solution:
We aim to purchase a Tata Winger Tempo Traveller, a 15-seater van, which costs approximately Rs 15 lakhs. This van will comfortably and safely transport the students twice a day, serving both the morning and afternoon batches. With your support, we can make a significant difference in their daily lives, helping them reach school with ease and confidence.

Need:
For the students, safe and comfortable transportation is crucial. Familiar vehicles, predictable routes, and trusted staff help reduce anxiety, ensure children arrive calm, and ready to learn. Reliable transport also encourages regular attendance and gives parents peace of mind.

Call to Action:
No donation is less and every rupee contributed by you will bring Sunshine School closer to owning a van of their own. The students would be delighted and it would be a huge relief for the teachers and parents to see their kids go to school safely.
