About Me

Hi, I’m Om Borawake, a 19-year-old Computer Engineering student at NMIMS. I’m currently in my 4th year of a 6-year program, and along with my studies, I try to stay involved in meaningful community work.

One such opportunity came through Sparsha Foundation, an NGO that’s doing wonderful work with children from underserved communities. I’ve seen their dedication up close — and I wanted to do something to support their efforts.

Appeal

The 15 children training under Sparsha Foundation are not professional athletes. They don’t have access to top-notch training facilities, sports gear, or regular nutrition plans. What they do have is a powerful drive — a desire to break the cycle of limitations and do something that once felt impossible: run a marathon.
Many of them come from families where running is just a mode of transport — not a sport. Some live in cramped homes, some face daily financial challenges, and many have never even owned a proper pair of sports shoes. But despite these realities, they show up for training every day — barefoot at times — with focus, discipline, and the biggest smiles. Marathon training has become more than physical activity for them — it’s a source of identity, confidence, and hope. Through this initiative, they’re not just building stronger bodies, they’re building character, community, and a sense of belonging.
This fundraiser is our way of telling them:
"We see you. We believe in you. And we’re running beside you."
Your support will help cover:
Decent running shoes and basic sportswear so they can run with comfort and dignity.
Healthy snacks and hydration, which are vital during intense training.
Transportation to marathon venues, ensuring no child misses out due to cost.
And most importantly, it gives them a sense that people out there care. No donation is too small — every rupee matters, and every gesture counts. Whether you’re sponsoring one pair of shoes or one child’s snack for a week, you’re becoming a part of a story much bigger than just a race.
