About Me

I'm Eldred Tellis, founder and Executive Director of Sankalp Rehabilitation Trust. Been involved in the Rehabilitation of Drug Users since 1984. Founded Sankalp Rehabilitation Trust in 1995 to serve the thousands of Street Drug Users in Mumbai. With a large number of Injecting Drug Users (IDUs) being vulnerable to HIV and Hepatitis C, I have been involved in the care and treatment of these two as well.

Having been a pioneer for Interventions among IDUs, Sankalp Rehabilitation Trust works on interventions throughout the continuum that involves Harm Reduction as well as Abstinence based Rehabilitation.

Appeal

Since 1995, Sankalp Rehabilitation Trust has basically responded to the needs of this vulnerable community and have often been the first to provide services where none existed. Our Drop-in-Centres have been functioning since 1999 and along the journey we have had Prison Programs, Shelters for destitute, Detoxification, Rehabilitation and also Safe Spaces for Children who are vulnerable and into drug use.

We are known to address problems even when there is no funding and our faith has rewarded us with resources as the world acknowledges our consistent and successful responses. You have been a part of all the amazing work through us and as we celebrate our 30th year, we come to you with confidence in your continued support.
