About Me

Hi, I am Aahana Khemani, a 12th grader at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School. I have been running for as long as I can remember, and I am extremely excited to run this year! I have visited the KEM Hospital multiple times and have had the opportunity to interact with cancer patients whose strength and optimism have deeply inspired me. Their resilience has motivated me immensely, and through this marathon, I truly hope to raise awareness, contribute meaningfully, and honour the courage of every patient that I’ve met.

Appeal

Childhood cancer can be cured. But for children in India, it’s a very different story. Lack of access to timely treatment and malnutrition among those seeking treatment makes survival difficult for children.

~76,000 adolescents (age 0-19) may develop cancer every year in India of which ~ 40% are malnourished at diagnosis. Malnutrition has a serious impact on cancer treatment, because treatments like chemotherapy may lead to side effects, complications, risk of infections, etc.

Cuddles Foundation is India's only NGO dedicated to helping children combat cancer through holistic nutrition. Cuddles has partnered with top government hospitals and charity cancer treatment centers to address the nutrition gap in Indian childhood cancer care. Through their FoodHeals® Program, Cuddles provides year-round holistic nutrition support to children and their families in 40+ hospitals across India.

The funds raised via Tata Mumbai Marathon will contribute to supporting hundreds of children at our partner hospitals in Mumbai with ration bundles, supplements, meals & counseling.
