About Me
Hello everyone,
I’m Parveen Shaikh — a psychologist with 27 years of experience across diverse domains of
mental health and psychology. Over the years, I have worked extensively in preventive care,
ranging from HIV awareness and life-skills training to career counselling and psychosocial
support. Today, I have the privilege of leading Mpower as its President.
My personal experience with loss and healing has profoundly shaped my belief that seeking
timely, professional mental health support can change lives. This belief fuels my commitment
to ensuring that no individual feels alone or unsupported in their emotional journey.
With courage and pride, I am participating in the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2026 — and I invite
you to join me in strengthening this movement.
Appeal
This year, I am walking the TATA Mumbai Marathon to raise awareness and resources for a
cause that lies at the heart of our collective well-being — mental health.
For millions in our country, mental health care is still inaccessible, unaffordable, and
stigmatized. Yet the need is real and urgent. Mental health influences the way we live, work,
learn, connect, and nurture relationships — and ultimately shapes the health of our
communities and nation.
As Mpower prepares to celebrate 10 years of impact in January 2026, this marathon
becomes even more meaningful. It symbolizes a decade of efforts to bring quality mental
health services closer to those who need them most.
Your contribution will directly support:
* Free counseling and therapy for individuals from underserved communities
* Sustaining round the clock free mental health helpline, ensuring immediate
support for anyone in emotional distress
* Strengthening outreach initiatives that make mental health conversations
accessible, inclusive, and stigma-free
Every kilometre I cover is a step toward ensuring that help is within reach for everyone —
regardless of background or circumstance.
I humbly request you to support this effort by donating generously. Your kindness will
empower individuals and families to find hope, healing, and the courage to seek help.
Thank you for walking with me and for believing in the power of mental wellness.
