My Name is Neeraj Verma, I started working with urban Health Resource Center 18 years ago in the development sector and have working with various programs, who constantly try to bring changes in the life of poor and marginalized section of the society. Through this platform I am trying to do my part for those people who are in need of support that can bring changes in their life.

Appeal

UHRC is a 20 yr old NGO working with basti (slum) populations in Indore, Agra and Delhi with a vision of an urban India were every resident enjoys optimal health, living environment, education and well-being, realizes his full potential and contributes to the nation’s growth and development.

I am raising funds for UHRC to help women access to their rights and dreams and children complete their education for surely bright future.

Urban Health Resource Center works with the children in Indore and Agra’s bastis. These women and children live in poverty, vulnerable conditions and in environments that pose social and health risks. Families are often trapped in money lenders unending cycles and women do an infinite fight to raise-up their children. Children drop out of school, have to do child labor along with studies. Some children are exposed to tobacco use. Urban Health Resource center work with these "at risk" communities engaging them in negotiation skill building, self-esteem and self-reliance enhancement programs and sports for children. These programs help build their confidence, leadership and recommit them to stand up and move. I firmly believe that investing in a child is investing in nation’s future.

The funds raised through this platform will be utilized for sustaining the self-reliance building, skill enhancing and confidence building programs across 2,20,000 basti populations.
