Project with Phoenix School for children with learning disabilities
Phoenix School focuses on children with learning disabilities. The school has expressed a need for WCCLF intervention, to provide arts-based therapies for healing the emotional disturbances, enhancing self-esteem and improving social skills of these children. On completion of the project, WCCLF would have created
- A standard arts-based therapy module for the children and
- Trained select teachers from the schools so that they can continue our program.
WCCLF objectives:

To provide music therapy, drama therapy and dance therapy to the children of Level 2 and Level 3 at phoenix school.

Train 3 teachers from Phoenix school who can learn our methodologies and continue the work from June 2005 onwards

Ensure that arts-based therapies are being sustained by the selected teachers

Program
Project with Rewalchand Bhojwani Academy for children with learning disabilities Rewalchand Bhojwani Academy is a special school of children with learning disabilities.
WCCLF has conceptualized following objectives for their program with the students of Rewalchand Bjojwani Academy :
- Music & drama therapy : Provide music therapy combined with drama therapy to the children of Jr. NOS and Sr. NOS section of RBA.
- Creating student-facilitators : Train 2 teachers from RBA who can learn our methodologies and continue the work from June 2005 onwards
- Teacher Training : Train 12 teachers of NOS section on specific needs as expressed by the Principal and vice-Principal of RBA
- Workshops for Parents of children with severe handicaps (IORA CLASS)
- Therapy sessions for children with severe handicaps. (IORA CLASS)
- Ensure that the teachers are sustaining arts-based therapies.
