All children
deserve a healthy childhood, but there are many in our country who do not get
adequate nutrition, timely immunizations, and proper healthcare. As a result,
they often suffer from recurring diseases, stunted growth and in extreme cases,
even face death.
Maharashtra has a high rate of
malnourishment, with nearly half of all deaths in children under 5 caused by
undernourishment. The problem is particularly severe in rural areas, where
socio-economic challenges exacerbate the issue. To address this, United Way
Mumbai’s Project Poshan works towards making villages and communities
malnutrition free. In partnership with the Integrated Child Development Scheme
(ICDS) the project is implemented in Karjat, Raigad district.
Join me on this journey to help undernourished
children fight malnutrition. With your assistance we can provide medical care
and nutrition support to these children. Thereby ensuring holistic development.
