Police Training on Animal Rights
India has some of the best animal protection laws in the world but the problem is the laws are not followed. Strict enforcement of animal protection laws by our police forces is urgently required.
PETA has developed a video that sensitizes police officials by showing instances of the law being broken and how the police officers can play a vital role in bringing animal transport into compliance with the law. PETA would like to show the video at 83 police stations in Mumbai.
PETA would also like to compile extracts from all the law specific to Maharasthra that protects animals, translate them into Marathi, and than distribute them into 83 police stations.
PETA has been committed support in the training of the police officials from Mr.Javed Ahmed, Joint Police Commissioner of Mumbai.
