About NGO:

Seva Sadan society is a century old charity working for the care, education and empowerment of underprivileged women. We run an orphanage/ home , schools and vocational training programs to impart modern skills to equip our girls for self sufficiency. As a part of its empowerment drive, the society has implemented a number of contemporary activities, projects and in-house training facilities aimed at all round development to make the girls confident and equipped to successfully meet the competition in every field. The society is largely funded by donations from philanthropic individuals, corporates and organizations, apart from some revenue generated by its self-sufficiency activities.

Fund Usage:

Funds will be utilized for pre-primary English school and primary English medium school as under :

1. Completely repairing and refurbishing the recently vacated premises from an illegal tenant which we got back after a long and arduous legal battle lasting over 25 years. The premises were returned in a dilapidated condition and needed major repairs/renovation. These premises will be used exclusively for our new English medium pre-primary school (set up 3 years ago in make-shift congested rooms of our Marathi medium school the new English medium school has grown with three classes now viz. The nursery, Jr.kg, sr.kg,) and the primary English school which starts this year with one class i.e. STD I. A proper conducive learning environment requires us to repair, reorganize and refurbish the rooms with proper furniture, teaching aids and child friendly facilities.
2. As we do not receive any grants for the running of these schools, we need to pay the salaries of teachers and staff for which also the donation would be used.
3. For purchase of equipment like teaching aids, black boards, furniture, TV set, play equipment, computers, books, Aqua-guard, fans etc.

Impact:

We were recipients of funds from united way of Mumbai though Aditya Birla marathon participation in 2008. Funds amounting to Rs. 14,11,332/-. Were received exclusively for water proofing of home terrace and other repairs which substantially improved the living conditions of the 100 residents. The complete report and accounts for the same were furnished to united way as well as Aditya Birla group.
