About NGO:

Concern India foundation is a non profit, charitable trust working towards its objective of 'helping people help themselves' .It was set up in 1991 to extend financial and non financial support to grass root programmes working in the areas of education, health and community development. Our support through these issues helps us reach out to a wider section of beneficiaries such as children, youth, the specially challenged, women and the elderly.

With about 20 years of experience in the field we have a strong identifying, monitoring and evaluating process and ensure a judicious disbursal of the funds and resources. With this we reach out in various ways to over 200 programmes, across the country, through our offices in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune.

Fund Usage:

Concern India Foundation Supports Over 200 Grass Root Progammes Across The Country. Education, Health And Community Development Are The Core Issues Addressed Through Our Support To These Programmes. Donations And Funds Received Through The Marathon Will Be Utilized For The Same.

Impact:

M Selvamani lived in a very crowded part of Tirunelveli for the past 33 years. The streets in his locality were filled with litter and open garbage bins. The public drinking water taps were surrounded by waste water and garbage. The drains were also choked, and waste water could be seen flowing everywhere making it the ideal breeding ground for mosquitoes and flies. Diarrhea, jaundice and typhoid were rampant.

A programme supported by concern India foundation educated the community on how to keep their surroundings clean through segregation of waste and proper garbage disposal. The municipal corporation now ensures the proper collection of waste everyday and the streets and houses and drinking water areas are clean. Everyone in the community cooperates in keeping the area clean.
