About NGO:
PROJECT CRAYONS works towards building and reinforcing social structures and people that are marginalized through process of education, health, and right to education for children and youth has been our core issies and strength. The girl child has been the primary beneficiary since over 10 yrs of been in service. We aim to reintegrate these marginalized groups into the social structure of human being.

Fund Usage:
Our Corporate partners have been supporting the project UDAAN GHAR, a rehabilitation centre for the girl child at risk. Most funds from SCMM usually are spent on operations on the UDAAN GHAR centre and the Empowerment of Dreams Program (EDP - an education scholarship program). This year the UDAAN GHAR shelter program will have a transformation in terms of the structure of programs. The funds will help us recruit new staff and also towards the EDP program in our Community Development Projects around Mumbai.
Impact:
Difficult though it is to summarize the impact on any particular case since the program impact a large similar group of girls. But for instance the case of (FARZANA) name changed, aged 14 yrs, she was brought to the program at UDAAN GHAR at age of 7 yrs. She was being abused mentally by her mother who was a street dweller from north Mumbai area. Also an alcoholic and single parent, the mother was always using Farzana for begging and child work. Today almost 7 yrs passed, the child is in a an English medium school, speaks English, writes English and has dreams to study higher. She has no affiliation to her mother and the centre has provided rehabilitation. She studies in the 6th grade of school.
