Education support for children of Bal Asha Ghar
Bal Asha Ghar is home for 50 children of commercial sex workers. The children come from families staying in Kamathipura Red Light area, Mumbai, Bhivandi, Nasik & Solapur. Most of the children at Bal Asha Ghar are referred by Prerna a NGO working for the commercial sex workers at the Kamathipura area of Mumbai. Children at Bal Asha Ghar are between the age group of 6-14 years.
United Way has support ed the education of Bal Asha Ghar in the year 2003 & 2004. ISC would like United Way to extend its support for one more year Grant Amount

School Based Education Support Program
ISC has started an education support program for the children of Joglekarwadi Municipal School.ISC identifies children in need of financial support in continuing their education and provide them with educational support to prevent dropouts.
United Way Mumbai support ed the education of 30 needy boys in 2003 and has extended support for 2004. ISC would like United Way to consider support of 30 children for another year. Grant Amount

Project Coordinator – Sion Program
As part of the capacity building process United Way Mumbai identified a need of a Project Coordinator for the Education Support Program at Sion. For 2004 UWM has therefore helped ISC appoint a Project Co-ordinator for the program. With the help of a trained professional person ISC intends to enhance the current activities and to subsequently expand its programs to include many more needy children under the fold of sponsorship.
ISC has in the 1 st quarter recruited a Project Coordinator for the Sion Project. ISC would like from United Way a commitment of minimum 3 years to support the remuneration of the Project Coordinator. ISC strongly believes that a Project Coordinator should be employed for a minimum of 3 years in order to deliver tangible results
