Isha Vidhya currently runs 9 schools in two states namely Tamilnadu (TN) and Andhra Pradesh (AP), educating nearly 6500 rural children, most of whom are first generation school goers. The first batch of Class X students appeared for their Board Exams in March 2015, from 7 schools. Not only did they achieve a 100% result, the highest score was 98.8% and the average score was 89.6%. Given the background of these children, this was clearly a milestone. Isha Vidhya is also into improving the quality of education in rural Government schools. Currently over 500 Government schools have been adopted in TN and AP. Isha Vidhya is run by a very large volunteer base, that ensures a low cost of fund raising (<5%). This ensures that every rupee / dollar you donate is put to effective use.
