When Mother Teresa showed me the helplessness of her nuns to deal with Alcoholics who had landed in their homes in abject poverty, she also inspired me to reach out to such people marginalized and totally misunderstood because of the disease of Alcoholism. From this encounter emerged Kripa Foundation which was inaugurated by Mother Teresa. Annually, of the average thousand and more alcoholics and drug addicts treated in Kripa, over half of them are from the streets and referrals of Mother Teresa’s Homes. Since 1991 Kripa took the initiative of reaching out to the HIV AIDS patients and has clinics in the North East and In Vasai. Among them are over a thousand five hundred HIV infected children some orphaned by the AIDS infected Parents. We need your help to make this most vulnerable area of suffering humanity free from stigma and discrimination. We have over 70 projects and a healing presence all over India. Mother Teresa has told us to give till it hurts. Our staff mostly recovered Addicts serve with dedication and love as Wounded Healers, a concept given to us by Jesus and Mother Teresa. It is when we help not from our abundance but from our poverty that God supplies his healing Grace.
