Living on the edge of the Asia’s largest dumping yard, my nine member family was much closer to realities, making me wonder what dreams are? Young and confused, when I was only coming to term with my fate as a slum girl or should I say a rag picker or whatever destiny could lead me to, a stranger came by. My Mom did not make it easy for him, she would not allow him anywhere around our hut, but he was a persistent man… Today however, I have a different story, as if Gods have heard my remote aspirations.(Thanks to that stranger, who is now fondly known as Salman Sir) I now believe that dreams do come true, even for a slum girl.
