We are privileged to have received a great education & provide the same and a life of luxury to our kids / family. In rural India there are many who dont have access to quality education missing an opportunity to lead a life different from that of their parents. Isha Vidhya make quality education accessible & affordable to the rural poor. Currently 9 schools with 6415 children are run in Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh, with approximately 60% students on free education supported by donations under a scholarship program, while the rest pay a nominal fee. Most of the students are first generation school goers in their family. Isha has also adopted 56 Govt schools in Tamil Nadu to improve the quality of education impacting over 40000 children. A similar project is underway in Andhra Pradesh, in 460 Govt. schools benefiting over 38000 children. This year Isha Vidhya requires to build 11 classrooms, 19 school buses, provide for scholarships & support the Govt schools that have been adopted. In addition, ~ 700 new children get admitted require scholarships. Isha Vidhya schools are run largely by volunteers and hence cost of fund raising is very low (<2%). Every rupee you donate will be put to effective use. With the support of generous donors like you, I have been able to touch the lives of a few little children who were otherwise deprived of that one chance at decent living. And in doing so, I have found the purpose of this small yet wonderful journey called life.
