After so many years I have finally gotten the opportunity to run for the standard chartered Mumbai marathon which is going to be held in January 2015 and to make it even better, I am running for a wonderful cause. I am running and raising funds for Isha Vidhya, an initiative of Isha Foundation which is committed to raise the level of education and literacy in rural India and help disadvantaged children . As majority of India’s population still lives in its villages, the latent potential of the rural masses to contribute to and share in the growth of the country remains untapped. The key to developing this potential is education. Isha Vidhya provides a scalable approach to providing quality education within the limitations present in underdeveloped, rural communities. Isha Education is presently running 8 schools in and around Tamil Nadu and 1 in Andhra Pradesh.. They have been able to provide good quality English medium Schools with computer knowledge to children of poor farmers who would have never have imagined this for their children. So I request you to donate generously, even a small amount can allow these children to attain their potential and blossom into the world.
