On the blog I started almost two years ago (http://livecurioustfi.wordpress.com), I state, "Teach for India has provided me with a new beginning. A challenging, all-consuming, infuriating new life. One I would not give up for the world. I teach in a MCGM (public/government) school in Mumbai, India. I taught 3rd-grade students last year and have graduated to 4th-grade with the same batch. My kids have become my life -- from planning lessons or field trips or musicals or volunteer visits to tailoring the curriculum to suit students who do speak English fluently and other kids who have learning disabilities; these kids have come to mean so much to me. It is hardly an easy job but it is often made easier when I see real growth (both academic and personal) in my students. It is for them that I am trying to raise money.
