Ever wondered about the life of kids living in orphanages and adoption homes? Do you think they get emotional support in their growing up years? What about basics like a balanced diet? And hygienic living conditions? How many days in a year do you think they would be down with illnesses that can be prevented by ensuring clean toilets and well ventilated rooms? Who pays their school fees and ensures that they don’t drop out? What about skill training for the older kids, who will not be allowed to live in such homes once they turn 18 and will have to fend for themselves and earn a living? There are thousands of such adoption homes and orphanages in our country that a large number of children in our country call a home. CSA has been working in this field since 2002 with such homes. They also facilitate adoption by working with aspiring parents. CSA is getting health and dental check-ups done for kids. It works with nutritionists to design effective meal plans so that the kids get a balanced meal every day. It is making connections with skill training institutes to train the older kids and enable them to earn a living. CSA works with agencies in interior Maharashtra, MP, Odisha and Goa. Of late, CSA has found a lot of support from large corporates but there is still a lot to be done.
