United Way Mumbai organizes field visits to the NGOs every month for its corporate members. United Way Mumbai strongly believes in “Seeing is Believing” and therefore would like the employees to see to believe and to appreciate the implementation of the community programs support ed by United Way with the help of employee contributions.
United Way organized the first visit to the Jijamata Udyan Zoo. Peolple for Ethical Treatment to animals (PETA) with the support of United Way Mumbai has implemented the Byculla Zoo Campaign to bring much needed reforms in the Zoo. In the first quarter of the campaign i.e. April – June, PETA was successful in bringing substantial changes in the Zoo for improving the living conditions of the animals. The first field visit witnessed a low participation from the employees and a good representation from the media. On the July 10 th we were accompanied by PETA representatives, employees from JS Group, Price Water House Cooper, Sunit Mehra, Board Member United Way Mumbai and representatives from Times of India, Afternoon, In Mumbai and Zee News.
