The
United Way CEO Breakfast was the first major event of the year. The
objective of holding the CEO Breakfast was primarily to leverage the
visit of Mr. Arthur Bellis, trustee United Way International and to
:
- Create awareness in the corporate sector about UWM and its activities
- Educate the corporate community about the Payroll Giving program
- Share the practices of corporate social responsibility with the
Corporates
- Create a platform for corporates and NGOs to come together and
work together in a 'United Way' fashion and to build synergies in
developmental efforts.
On the day of the breakfast we had the banquet hall over filled with
guests both from the NGO and the corporate sector. The event played
in an important role in launching the Payroll Giving Campaign amongst
the Corporates. Also the event has served as a platform to initiate
a partnership with leading social institutions to form a loose council
of NGOs and Corporates who would work together for development.
