Current Career Opportunities at United Way Mumbai

1. Program Executive- Outreach and Community Mobilisation, United Way Mumbai Helpline

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for Community Outreach and Mobilisation for issues pertaining to health and implementing field related activities 
  • Regular Communication and interaction with Program stakeholders and partners for implementation of the project
  • Coordinating and Managing partnerships with key public and private agencies for implementation of program activities 
  • Plan, organise and carry out Information-Education-Communication campaigns for sensitisation on health issues in the selected community
  • Periodic reporting (written) of the program deliverables and outcome 

Qualifications:
-Candidate must have Masters in Social Work/Bachelors in Social Work degree
-Preference will be given to the candidates with at least one year of experience. However, freshers are also encouraged to apply.
-Must be able to communicate well in English, Hindi and Marathi.  Proficiency in written English is a must , while proficiency is necessary for spoken Hindi and Marathi.
-Efficient in Community Outreach and Mobilisation
-Candidate must be a team player and should be willing to travel extensively in and around Mumbai for implementing program activities

2. Program Manager- Special Events


Description:

The position is responsible for managing and executing all special events of United Way of Mumbai. The predominant event is the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon(SCMM). SCMM is India's biggest charity event, annually raising above Rs 18 Crores for over 200 NGO's with participation from hundreds of companies, fundraisers and thousands of donors. United Way of Mumbai is the charity partner of the event and serves as the philanthropic exchange connecting donors to charities by creating and implementing an organized and structured charity platform and process.

 

Role and responsibility:

  •  Create, improve and communicate the charity structure to maximize the fund raising capacity and visibility of all participating charities via the event.
  •  Maintain excellent processes to ensure flawless execution of the charity structure.
  • Manage the entire funds cycle- raising, receiving, accounting, reconciling, disbursing and reporting.
  •  Create and implement a communication strategy to leverage the visibility of the charity aspect of the marathon.
  • Manage and develop relationships with NGOs, Corporate, Fundraisers, Donors, vendors and partners.
  • Lead and manage the special events team and improve team efficiency.

 

You are the right person if you are:

Organised and excellent communicator- written as well as oral.

A people's person with natural flair for developing relationships and network.

Excellent with MS office especially excel.

Creative and innovative thinker

Have passion and drive to make a difference in society through supporting causes.

Have demonstrable experience handling large and complex activities/events/processes.

Great understanding of social and traditional media and well versed with the tools of the trade.

An understanding of the non profit sector is desirable but not essential. Sensitivity to the sector is essential.

 

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience and merit.. but as a non profit, do keep a realistic expectation.
