Imagine your office being situated in a filthy locality with no lights or dustbins or anything you need around..... weary repeatedly complaining about it??? Can you do something about it??? Do you want to do something about it???

What does 'ADOPT A STREET/LOCALITY/NEIGHBOURHOOD' mean??

Your organization in partnership with United Way Mumbai Helpline and the concerned municipal ward office will adopt a street for a period of one year. The purpose of adopting this street is to maintain cleanliness in the area and spread awareness on the issues of cleanliness through various programmes.

How?

• Clean-Up Drives: To maintain cleanliness in the adopted street, your employees as volunteers will carry out a series of Clean-Up drives on periodically. This will include:
• Cleaning up the street.
• Interacting with common public to spread awareness about cleanliness.
• Also persuading a behavioral change among the fellow citizens and motivate them to maintain cleanliness in the street.
  
  
• Clean-Up Warning Cards: Your employee volunteers would have to apply in order to become the warning card volunteers so that they can warn the defaulters found spitting and littering on the street adopted as well as all over the city. The employee volunteers would also be able to mobilize citizens from the neighbourhood to become warning card volunteers.
  
  
• Promoting Clean Aangan Concept: During the Clean-Up drives, your Employee volunteers would be able to interact with the shopkeepers and hawkers on that street and convince them to:
• Maintain Clean Aangan within the premises of their shops/stalls.
• Place litter bins outside their shops & making sure that they throw their garbage in the litter bins.
• Ensure that their customers don't litter around
  
  
• Infrastructural Inputs: Going further you may consider installing litterbins in the adopted street. The employee volunteers can map out the street/ locality and identify chronic spots where litter is piled up.
