Mr. Punam Singavi of Hariyali explained to the WNS volunteers the need and importance of tree planting. For trees provide us with the basic necessities of food and air and by planting trees we are doing our duty to the environment.
Mr. Singavi then briefed the volunteers about the process of sapling planting the basic do's and don'ts and the care to be taken while planting a delicate sapling.
At Pogaon is an abandoned filtration plant which belongs to the Brihanmumbai Mahanagar Palika. They have allowed Hariyali to carry out sapling planting activities here.
Along this tract of land the WNS volunteers with the guidance of Hariyali activists, Mr. Bondale, Mr. Khare and Mr. Sunil Chaudhary planted a total of about 500 saplings.
The activity ended in the afternoon with all the volunteers thoroughly thrilled to be engaged in such a fruitful activity.
