Rehabilitation services Comprehensive individualized educational programs for the Mentally Challenged and Autistics benefiting 500 individuals:
  1. Psycho-educational assessment
  2. Individualized Educational/Vocational Program
  3. Physio-therapy, Occupational therapy, Speech Therapy
  4. IQ assessments
  5. Counseling & Healthcare
Chiguru Program
Inclusive Pre-school Education for Normal children and children at risk-Developmental delays. 23 beneficiaries are covered by this program annually.
Community Based Rehabilitation 33 beneficiaries are enrolled in this program annually:
  1. Identification of Disability
  2. Awareness & Prevention
  3. Therapeutic intervention including Medical Screening
  4. Positive maternal health,

Case Study
Kusuma, 6 years

Kusuma is a beautiful little girl and is a smart and obedient. She is a normal child, when she joined Chiguru she was shy and would not talk to her classmates nor would she mingle with others.

After joining Chiguru, she improved in academics and other areas too. She was able to introduce herself to visitors. She was able to say her parent's names. She could identify vehicles, fruits, vegetables, flowers, writes numbers 1 to 50, would write and recite alphabets A – Z, sing rhymes. She was good in grooming herself very well, clean and good at brushing her teeth and washing her face. She used a spoon to eat her food and washed her plate independently. Today, she is able to co-operate and mingle with other children.

She has now studying in a normal school in Jattipalya.
  

Shoba, 5 years

Diagnosis: Down Syndrome

Shoba is a Down Syndrome girl. A beautiful and smart girl, always with a smile on her face. She was very friendly with all the children.

Before joining Chiguru, she was earlier going to an Anganwadi school in the village. She was treated badly by the children in her class who beat, pinched and bit her.

After joining Chiguru she has improved in her academics. Identified names, objects, vehicles, flowers, fruits, vegetables, would write and recite numbers 1-50 and alphabets A to Z. She sang rhymes and could describe parts of her body. She loved sports and is very interested in games and loved playing with smaller children. She would wash her face and brush her teeth independently.
