Community Involvement

Helping people is what we do at the Principal Financial Group®. In 2003, the Principal Financial Group and the Principal Financial Group Foundation, Inc., awarded hundreds of grants worth nearly $7.3 million. Through grants, matching gifts, in-kind contributions, volunteer efforts and partnerships we give to those in need by supporting affordable housing, health and human services, educational programs, cultural opportunities and community initiatives. Our thoughts continue to be with the victims, survivors and relief workers involved in this great tragedy. To help with the relief efforts, the Principal Financial Group® (The Principal®) and employees are making donations and raising money. United Way International, United Way of America and United Way affiliates in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and east Africa are working together to respond to the southern Asia communities affected by the earthquakes and tsunamis.
