Aakar Mumbai works with rag pickers from Bandra to Dahisar in the area of waste management.

In the torrential rains on 26th July which led to the floods in Mumbai, Aakar Mumbai beneficiaries were drastically impacted. The floods washed away the houses of the rag pickers dwelling in areas like Marol, Chakala, Andheri, Jogeshwari.

Aangan provides psychological rehabilitation to children in government run homes. There are 7 state run institutions in Mumbai with over 3000 children.

Aarambh which means ‘the beginning’ provides non formal education and tuitions to children in migrant slum colonies in Navi Mumbai. Currently Aarambh works with over 1300 children in 11 slum communities.

CCDT works with children living in especially difficult situations and also children infected / affected and at risk to HIV/AIDS. These children are stigmatised, abandoned and exploited; with little hope of a bright future One of the key areas of work is to ensure good education for children which will enable them to stand on their feet.

Childline was India’s first is a 24-hour, 7 days week tolls free, emergency phone service for children in need of protection. CHILDLINE currently consists of a growing network of 155 centers across 66 cities in India. Today, it has taken over 7.2 million such calls and has made a difference to the lives of thousands of children all over the country.

Conservation Education Centre is a centre for informal and pleasurable nature education for children from 2400 schools in Mumbai.

It brings about awareness, sensitivity and knowledge to save what remains of our precious but rapidly vanishing forests and wildlife.

ISC provides educational sponsorship to children from vulnerable sections through residential and community based non-residential programmes with the ultimate objective of rehabilitation through a purposeful education.

Jidnyasa is an Adolescent Sensitization Program of 18 hours for 9th Standard students of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and also in 8 districts in Maharashtra. The programme is run in coordination with the Institute for Psychological Health and with help from the Mumbai Police. The program has reached out to 1,00,000 students so far.

Meljol works with the children in government run schools. The objective of the Meljol activities is to foster healthy attitudes in children and to educate them about their responsibilities with the aim to inculcate good citizenship skills among children.

PETA is the largest animal rights organization in the world. PETA focuses primarily on the areas where the greatest numbers of animals suffer the most for the longest period of time.

PETA made tremendous progress in bringing reforms in the Zoo. PETA has enriched the cages of the leopard, elephants, and the bears. PETA volunteers on an everyday basis ensuring food is served on time, drinking water is available and cages and kept clean.

Prerana works for the rights and the welfare of the commercial sex workers and their children in the Kamathipura area in Mumbai. It works with children and commercial sex workers in prevention of HIV/AIDS.

The Sharnam Centre is a safe and secure home for Mumbai's girl street child. Based in Mahim, house parents have been successful in creating a family-like atmosphere for 30 girls.

The girls have been able to participate in numerous activities from computer classes, karate, sports, and even Bharat Natyam classes.

Streehitkarini is a women's organization working for the integrated development of the women with special emphasis on health issues from slums of Dadar, Prabhadevi, Elphinstone Road Worli.

Streehitakarini provides primary health care services and offers information on health, nutrition, hygiene, family planning, training and income generating activities.

SUPPORT (Society Undertaking Poor People's Onus for Rehabilitation) was established in 1985 with the objective to reduce the incidence of drug abuse and create awareness of HIV/AIDS among street children, homeless youths and pavement families through education and care programs.

Since its inception SUPPORT has successfully rehabilitated over 400 children from drug abuse and have impacted over 1500 children.

The Bridge Trust has made remarkable changes in the quality of the lives of the rural people. Based out of village Kasara on Mumbai Nasik highway Bridge Trust is working with 12 tribal villages reaching out to 711 families of population of 4235. The Bridge Trust main area of focus is Education, Health and Water.

Ummeed was established in 2001 with a goal of providing quality care of high professional standards and systems to children with developmental disabilities. Ummeed was set up in response to the paucity of facilities available to over 150,000 children with developmental disabilities.
