35 Deloitte Volunteers & 17 Children Become One With Nature |

Celebrating Friendship Day
The day kick started with great excitement and zeal by celebrating the bond of friendship where both the children and the volunteers tied friendship bands to each other.

One With Nature
Volunteers were eagerly taking part in an interactive session with queries about conservation and bio-diversity.

"Have respect for nature and nature will respect you" said Hemant, a member of Bombay Natural History Society while addressing the 35 Deloitte volunteers and 17 Children from Dreamz Home For The Homeless.

7th August 2006 – Visit To Yusuf

39 Children, 103 Deloitte Volunteers, Fun & Learning In Equal Measures |
The visit to the Yusuf Meherally Centre was a day of interaction between the Deloitte employees and children from Hamara Club Foundation with a lot of fun and learning in store.
The event was initiated by a ceremonious ‘Adopt a child for the day', where each adult individual was appointed one child who he/she had to spend the entire day with.
This led to quick bonding between the children and the Deloitte volunteers.
Visit to the various workshops: Oil Extraction, Pottery, Soap Making, Baking, Nursery And Vermiculture
The visit to the centre gave a wonderfull learning experience to the volunteers and the children. It provided an exposure to the manufacture of oils, soaps,manure etc. by using available resources grown within the village thus emphasizing examples of self sustainability.
The Deloitte volunteers and the children together visited various workshops like Oil Extraction, Pottery, Soap Making, Baking, Nursery And Vermiculture and learned the techniques of each.
All Fun And More Play...
The children and adults mingled together and played games, danced and sang.
The contagious enthusiasm was visible as the children and employees played games.

8th August 2006 – Tree Plantation Drive
250 Deloitte Volunteers Sweat It Out & Plant 1000 Saplings of 45 Varieties |

250 Deloitte volunteers gathered early on 8th August morning with a zealous spirit and one motto in mind, 'Let us all plant more trees'. All volunteers took on the back breaking exercise of planting saplings with much enthusiasm and eagerness.
About 1000 saplings of 45 varieties were planted by 250 Deloitte employees. The various saplings belonged to species of neem, kokam, teak, cashew, pipal, banyan, sitaphal to name a few.
The members of the Maharashtra Nature Park Society and the Gagangiri Maharaj Charitable Ashram Trust facilitated the volunteers in the sapling planting.They were overwhelmed by the tremendous and lively response.
