Child Fund India plays an instrumental role in addressing Child Labour in the communities in Firozabad district, through a comprehensive child sponsorship program. Sustained community-based interventions are undertaken in six communities involved in bangle-making activities and two socially marginalized scavenger's communities.
The main interventions under this program include:
- Alternate Livelihood Programs for sustainable income generation activities to address poverty and facilitate formation of self help groups for women for economic enhancement and to undertake micro-planning, implementation and monitoring of social and child-development programs.
- Health programs including Reproductive and child health, Nutrition, HIV/ AIDS, Disability, water and sanitation and Tuberculosis and Malaria
- Education programs including Early Childhood Development and Basic Education programs which complement and support government programs
- The program reaches a total population of 15,000 including children and families
