United Way Works Hard To Ensure That Books Reach The Needy |
| Short listing the NGOs for the Books Donation |
Prior initiating to campaign, a research document was created in order to identify the real and immediate needs of the children. This research was conducted along with our partner NGOs. These inputs were kept in mind while creating the collaterals. All Motorola locations were filled with colorful posters encouraging the employees to participate actively.
Books Collection
United Way received
stationary items, rain gear, clothes and about 3500 books
from all the 4 locations outlets containing Textbooks, Storybooks, books on GK, Art and Craft, Dictionaries and Grammar books, toys etc.

Book Sorting
It was a backbreaking exercise for the volunteers as the cartons had to be opened, books to be scrutinized and sorted in order to match donated books with the needs of the NGOs working with children.

Books Donation
The books were donated to children from 10 NGOs, working with street children, children from orphanages, children of daily wage laborers, residential homes etc. For some NGOs it helped in setting up an in-house library with an objective to inculcate reading habits among the children. |
