Kripa Foundation is India's largest NGO affiliated with MSJE (Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment) working with chemically dependent patients since 1981 in 11 states.

Kripa runs detoxification and rehabilitation programs treating over 2500 patients annually through non-discriminatory supportive community living facilitating life-style changes in drug addicts and alcoholics. Our other focus area is combating HIV/AIDS. Kripa provides counseling, medical treatment, nutrition programs and after-care follow up for people living with HIV/AIDS. More importantly, we create awareness about this vulnerable population facilitating community empowerment to reduce the stigma associated with it. The Kripa Dharavi Shelter caters to the needs of a growing population of street children battling addiction, their education and occupational rehabilitation.

The management and treatment of our beneficiaries is made possible through the generosity and commitment of our donors as we continue working for this marginalized section of the society.

"Be faithful in small things!" Mother Theresa's motto inspires me as I dedicate this Dream Run to the street children battling addiction in the Dharavi slums. Last year's efforts saw great emotional and intellectual growth and I hope to sustain this and widen the scope of the project. Working with them I realized that the smallest thing in life can make a difference; a simple hug or a high-five meant so much to them! It's their toothy smiles and ever-welcoming "Hello Didi" that keep me tied down to these vulnerable souls. With miles to go towards building a lasting future for them, the more I do the more there is still left to be done! Little acorns need nurturing to grow into mighty oaks and I hope to be the little drop of change to make this happen.
