There are so many wonderful NGOs doing such great work. I often wish that we could all spread ourselves everywhere and run for them all but of course we cannot. So I run every year for one or a few causes very close to my heart. Every year I run for the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) a wonderful NGO doing amazing work in all aspects of cancer care. From awareness to god forbid detection to cure and counseling and support on all fronts. Also running for Muktangan a great NGO that focuses on all round education for those less fortunate. And this year I am also running for the Salaam Mumbai Foundation which is a super anti tobacco NGO. Having lost my beloved dad to Emphesyma two years ago, I am even more passionate about wanting to irradicate smoking.
Cancer Patients Aid Association is a registered NGO working in the field of cancer for the last 43 years. The objective of the Society is to alleviate the suffering of the poor cancer patients by providing 'Total Management' of the disease right from awareness, diagnosis, medical aid ,diet aid, transportation to rehabilitation of the patients. Based on what I have written above I urge people to help in whatever way they may be able to. Not everyone is able to donate large amounts but to me its about giving what you can for a good cause, be it money, time, effort, awareness. The new good deed marathon inititaive is pretty much in sync with what I mean. So by all means if you can donate money to these wonderful NGOs that would be great else any other way of giving would be great too!
