I support N K Dhabhar Cancer Foundation which is taken care of by my wife, Mrs Pouruchisti Dhabhar and her team..
The Foundation provides financial assistance to patients taking treatment for cancer, whether surgery, chemotherapy, radiation or any other medical treatment s. It also conducts activities for patient support. This year an art festival was held at Rachana Sansad, Mumbai where cancer patients poured out their feelings on canvas. The art work will be reproduced on merchandise to raise funds and may also be auctioned.
The NK Dhabhar Cancer Foundation wishes to raise funds for all such activities and also to establish a Palliative Care Centre for terminally ill cancer patients. There is a need for such a facility where patients can live along with a relative in pleasant surroundings and can be administered medical and other supportive treatment. The foundation is looking for land in the vicinity of Mumbai to set up this centre. Palliative care can help create a situation that maintains quality of life, where the focus is on living each remaining day as fully as possible.
Palliative care is care given to improve the quality of life of patients who have a serious or life-threatening disease, such as cancer. The goal of palliative care is to prevent or treat, as early as possible, the symptoms and side effects of the disease and its treatment, in addition to the related psychological, social, and spiritual problems. The goal is not to cure. Palliative care is also called comfort care, supportive care and symptom management.
As doctors we prescribe medicines for the cancer patients. Since these medicines are expensive and some patients are unable to afford them, we need NGOs to come to their assistance in form of financial aid and psychological counseling.
N K Dhabhar Cancer Foundation is concerned about the welfare of the cancer patients and provides financial assistance. The foundation also conducts awareness camps and welfare programmes for the patients benefits.
We would like you to support us in raising funds for all such activities and also to establish a Palliative Care Centre for terminally ill cancer patients
